Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment

Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment

At Skokie School District 68, our mission is to develop confident and creative learners by providing a rigorous curriculum and a supportive educational environment—one that promotes high achievement, encourages personal growth, and meets the unique needs of every student.

Through Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment, our goal is to equip both educators and students with the tools, resources, and frameworks necessary to foster the whole child’s development. We believe that learning must be rigorous, relevant, and responsive—preparing students not just for academic success, but for a rapidly changing world.

Our curriculum across all grade levels is aligned with state standards and thoughtfully structured to cultivate critical thinking, problem-solving, and social-emotional growth. We strive to design and implement research and evidence-based high-quality instruction that meets diverse student needs and ensures high levels of learning for all students.

Assessment at District 68 is never singular—it is a multi-dimensional and continuous process. We utilize a blend of classroom, district-wide and state-mandated assessments  to monitor growth, inform instruction, and ensure that every student’s learning trajectory is supported. This layered approach allows us to tailor interventions, promote advancement, and celebrate achievement across the learning continuum.

Together, our Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment team works collaboratively with building leaders, teacher leaders, and families to continuously reflect, refine, and elevate our practices—because our commitment is not only to prepare students for today but to empower them for tomorrow.
