Shape Tomorrow, Today: Skokie School District 68 Strategic Plan

Skokie School District 68 is excited to launch a comprehensive Strategic Planning Process to help define future priorities, outcomes, and strategies aligned with the District’s vision. Students (Grades 6–8), parents/caregivers, staff, and community members are all invited to share their perspectives by Survey and/or Focus Group.

Background

In May of 2025, Skokie School District 68 initiated an Educational Services Equity Audit to inform future strategic planning. The audit evaluated progress on current strategic plan goals and provided feedback on additional areas for improvement, which is outlined in this Executive Summary.

At the June 26, 2025 Board Meeting, administration recommended soliciting proposals from qualified consultants to provide Strategic Planning Services. At the August 28, 2025 Board Meeting, Studer Education was selected as the District’s strategic planning partner.

Studer Education will work closely with the District to facilitate the planning process, ensuring that perspectives of the learning community help shape priorities and actionable strategies for the future.

Current Planning Timeline

While the District continues to work toward objectives in the 2023–2025 Strategic Plan (pictured below), the following steps have been taken toward the future plan:

• September 2025: Superintendent and Studer Education collaborated to develop a timeline and engagement schedule.
• October 2025: Steering Committee members identified and invited; ongoing planning with Studer Education.
• November 2025 – May 2026: Strategic Planning objectives implemented according to the “Tentative Timeline & Objectives.

Next Strategic Plan Update: Scheduled for the February 19, 2026 Board Meeting.

Focus Groups

Focus groups will be held at the Educational Service Center, 9440 Kenton Avenue, and facilitated by Dr. Reggie Todd of Studer Education, the District’s strategic planning partner. Each session lasts approximately 90 minutes.
