Classroom Spotlight: Mrs. Colianne's Classes

Dear Families,
We had such a fun week celebrating our ABC Countdown!

On Monday, the children enjoyed a refreshing ice pop for Letter I. It was such a special treat and a great way to start our week!

On Tuesday, we had many opportunities for jumping during Letter J Day. We sang jumping songs and set up a fun jumping obstacle course in the motor room. The children loved showing off their jumping skills!

On Wednesday, we focused on Letter K for kindness. We read a book about how to be kind to others, sang a kindness song together, and passed out hearts to our friends to spread kindness throughout the classroom.

On Thursday, we celebrated Letter L by making letters and participating in fun literacy activities together. We also had a special surprise reader this week when Mr. John joined us as a guest reader in our classroom! The children loved listening to the Bee book he read and were so excited to have a special visitor.

On Friday, we had so much fun celebrating Letter M for Music Day with a fun dance party! The children loved dancing, singing, and moving to the music with their classmates.

We are looking forward to another exciting week as we continue our ABC Countdown while also working hard on our educational activities!

ECC Graduation May 21

We are excited for the upcoming Preschool Graduation and are busy preparing our students for the ceremony!

Event Details
Graduation is at the Early Childhood Center on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. for students in our morning classes and 12:45 p.m. for students in our afternoon classes.

Parking
Families and guests will need to park on Kenton Ave. or other side streets for graduation.  The parking lot at the ECC is for the staff and will be full on graduation day.  There are a couple of handicapped parking spaces at the ECC and at Old Orchard Junior High for families with valid tags or license plates.

Guest Limits & Tickets
We have a large graduating class this year of about 65 students.  Each family will be receiving three tickets for graduation to ensure that all students have people from their family in attendance, and this policy will be enforced.  Infants and toddlers who will be sitting on the lap of an adult do not count in the three tickets per family.

Pre-Screening
The three parents, guardians, and/or other adults (grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.) per family who are planning to attend graduation will need to be screened and receive a visitor's badge from our office before entering the building for graduation.  We are asking you to do this in advance of graduation in order to make the day of graduation run more smoothly.  Guests who do this in advance will be able to pick up their badge the day of graduation and walk into the building when the doors open.

Parents, guardians, and other family members can complete the screening process electronically or can come into the ECC before May 21 and complete it in-person.  All parents and guardians of graduates will be receiving an email invitation from Mrs. Canchola through Verkada, the security system we use to screen visitors, on Monday, May 18.  You will need to follow the prompts and have a photo ID ready to complete the process.  Guests who would like to complete the screening process in person can bring a photo ID and stop by the ECC on any school day between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.  Please note that we are very busy during arrival and dismissal, and you will be asked to wait if you come during those times.

Guests who do NOT do this in advance will need to have a photo ID and will have to wait in line to receive a visitor’s badge on graduation day.  Guests may begin screening and obtaining a visitor’s badge on May 21 at 8:00 a.m. for students in our morning ceremony and at 11:45 a.m. for students in our afternoon ceremony.

Graduation Caps
To help make the day memorable, we want to inform you that each child will be wearing a white graduation cap during the ceremony.  We kindly recommend that hairstyles be arranged in a way that allows the cap to fit comfortably and securely.  Caps will be placed on the children's heads right before the ceremony begins.

Thank you for your continued support.  The students and staff at the ECC cannot wait to celebrate this wonderful day wit
