LAST DAY OF SCHOOL WILL BE JUNE 8TH

The last day of school will most likely be June 8, not June 5, due to a snow day that was used earlier in the school year. Because that day was missed, it has been added back to the calendar to ensure all required instructional time is completed. We say "most likely" because if any additional school days are canceled for weather or other reasons, those days will be made up at the end of the year. This means the final day of school could be pushed back even further if more days off occur.

READ ACROSS HIGHLAND!

Our librarian Mrs. Talbert is inspiring a passion for books through “Read Across Highland,” an initiative dedicated to promoting and celebrating a vibrant culture of reading.
Children lie on the floor in a classroom, reading books.

CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES!

It's Read Across America Week! Each day this week, students were assigned a different reading position to explore new and engaging ways to enjoy reading. Above students are "reading like a boat" (upside down).

HIGHLAND SILENT AUTION!

Highlandpalooza Silent Auction
The PTA is planning our annual Highlandpalooza fundraiser on Saturday, May 16, 2026, and we are seeking prizes and donations for the silent auction, which is critical to the event’s success.

What is Highlandpalooza?
Highlandpalooza is the PTA’s annual family fun fest and it’s our largest fundraiser of the year! The PTA hosts events such as Trunk-or-Treat, Hot Chocolate Family Fun Run, the Winter Wonderland Dance, and more! The PTA also funds memory books for 5th graders, Highland t-shirts for our Kindergarten students, and several teacher appreciation events throughout the year. The more money we raise, the more we can do for the students, teachers and families of Highland!

What is the Silent Auction?
In conjunction with Highlandpalooza, the PTA runs a silent auction, where families can bid on items to win, with all proceeds going to the Highland PTA. The silent auction is run online, and will open a few days before Highlandpalooza, culminating with a final chance to bid throughout the day of Highlandpalooza on May 17th.

What is needed for the Silent Auction?
We seek donations of items for the auction such as gift certificates, gift baskets, services (spa, handyman, etc.), new household items, event tickets, etc. Do you have a service to offer? Do you own a business, or know someone who does, and can offer a gift certificate? Did you receive a household gift that you never opened and won’t be using? Think about donating to our silent auction! If you, or someone you know, would like to donate to the silent auction please reach out to highlandpalooza68@gmail.com before
May 1, 2026.
