The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is celebrating the Week of the Young Child from April 11-17. At the ECC, we also celebrate the Week of the Young Child annually and plan fun activities throughout the week. As part of this year's celebration, we are looking for parents, guardians, and other adult family members who are willing to come in and read a book to the students in your child's class. Please see your child's teacher's recent newsletters for more information, including how to sign-up to participate.

JG’s Reptile Road Show will be coming to The Early Childhood Center on Thursday, April 16, 2026, to present an educational show for our preschool students. The show will take place at 10:15 a.m. for the morning session and at 12:30 p.m. for the afternoon session. 

This engaging presentation aims to deepen our students’ understanding of various species of wild animals. The animals that will be present at the show range in size from a tiny tree frog to a 9-foot snake. Aligned with the Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards in science and our science curriculum, this program promises to be an engaging and interactive exploration of different animals.
