Principal's Message

Welcome to Old Orchard Junior High School! We are a professional, committed staff that implements a rigorous instructional program to ensure that all of our students are high school ready in the short term and college and career ready in the long term. Our students engage in learning in our core instructional areas; Math, Reading, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. Students also have opportunities to engage in our Encore program which includes Art, Music, Drama, Gateway to Technology, Family and Consumer Science, Choir, Band, Orchestra, Spanish, and French, Embedded throughout our instructional program students engage in 21st century skill development in communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. 

We ask our parents to join us in their child's educational journey. Parents can take an active role by asking your child what they are learning in school, reviewing homework, and checking their online assignment calendar. Parents can view student grades through PowerSchool and can observe student coursework through Canvas. Please encourage your child to get involved in school activities, such as the art club, student ambassadors, or a sport. We are committed to developing well-rounded students that are high school ready. Our goal is to develop a strong partnership with all of our families. Please contact your child's teachers or the school office if you have any questions.
